Introducing the Lean Game
The Lean Game is the best way to learn all lean concepts by doing. You and your team will understand the idea of lean thinking within a few hours. You achieve continuous improvement by thinking differently, which you will certainly achieve within this Lean Game.
The Lean Game can be used for different purposes. Are you, or your (management) team, not yet very familiar with lean and are you curious about what lean can mean for your company? Then this game is the ideal way to determine the added value of a lean implementation. Eyes will open within your (management) team. We recommend that you purchase the Lean Workshop (for at least 1 session) in addition to the Lean Game. This allows a Lean Expert to help you become familiar with lean.
Are you more advanced with lean? Even then, the Lean Game can give you just that inspiration that you didn’t have before. By looking at another process in a different way, you can find renewed ideas and energy to make your process even better.

Purpose of the Lean Game
With the Lean Game you learn to apply a lean implementation to a simple process. This allows you to implement improvements as a team, which ensures an optimal customer experience. Every company has business processes that lead to making customers happy. So the great thing is that the Lean Game applies to every company! It’s a first step (or a next step) in doing even better for the customer, and that’s what we do it all for, right?
What do you learn during the Lean Game:
1. Different lean concepts such as: customer value, pull, Just-In-Time, 8 forms of waste, one-piece-flow, etc.
2. Lean thinking. Thinking in the form of value, value stream, flow, pull and perfection. Learn to think in processes and to recognize and eliminate the waste within this process.
3. Teamwork. Through the Lean Game you learn how valuable it is to operate as a team. Learn to collaborate, brainstorm and improve together. It is an unforgettable experience for your team which they will talk about for years and years!
Are you more advanced with the lean concept? Even then, the Lean Game can give you just that inspiration that you didn’t have before. By evaluation a different process in a different way, you can find renewed ideas and energy to make your process even better.
Execute the Lean Game
During the Lean Game you optimize a chaotic production process into a well-functioning process. The customer is critical and wants 15 high-quality vehicles every 15 minutes. Together with your team of 6 to 8 people, you provide the ultimate customer experience to make the process lean in 4 rounds (including some improvement sessions).
Some facts:
- Each participant has a different role within the Lean Game. Think of: operators, a transport employee, a process improver, a quality controller, etc.
- Each role gets an instruction card in which clearly states what to do. In addition, there is also a manual of the Lean Game and Lean implementation cards for the improvement sessions. Therefore it is possible (if there is lean knowledge within the team) to play the game without further guidance. Otherwise we recommend a Lean Workshop!
- The Lean Game has a playing time of approximately 3 hours. This depends on the duration of the improvement sessions.
